Flat Panel Speakers
Technology is always looking to progress in leaps and bounds. Companies brainstorm their ideas and try and make that next step forward. Flat panel is a modern invention, and you may instantly think of flat panel televisions when you hear the term; however, the latest babies in the nursery are flat panel speakers.

The technology behind such speakers did come from the flat panel television, as manufacturers had to learn how to compact their trickery into the new flat television casing, rather than the older boxy style, and from here the next natural progression was to have just the speakers alone available in a flat panel way.
Speaker set ups are used in many homes to help create that home cinema surround sound effect, and are set up and mounted at various points in the room. These speakers need to vary in size to give the overall surround sound, as they work together to create a 3D depth of sound within the room.
These are sometimes bulky and really don’t look good on the walls, so imagine how much better it could look if the speakers were flat panel and could be mounted flush against the wall, taking up less space and giving a better overall look to the room. Flat paneling is all about space saving, but one of the other imperative things that need to be considered is quality.
It is all very well making something look better but it isn’t going to sell or prove popular if it isn’t as good as the original product it was designed to replace.
This was the challenge for flat panel speaker manufacturers, and they achieved their goal excellently. The sounds may not be produced in the same way as the conventional box speakers, but they are clear and defined and produce sounds that are rich and carry depth well.
The speakers can be wall mounted, or if that is not appropriate they can be mounted to a stand. There is no change on the fact that a full set of speakers comprises different sizes, but without a doubt flat panel is the way to go. Don’t expect the speakers to be literally flat here, but they are without a doubt much less bulkier than their ancestors.
As with any new technology to the field, the buzz word is creativity, and you will see a vast array of flat panel speakers all with very different looks and feels, and again while they may look good you need to make sure you are getting the best in performance.
Again you will get a lot of reviews on speakers on the Internet, so if you see a set you like try and find a review before you buy so you can see what you are really in for. Find a site that offers genuine customer reviews.
There are many great online review magazines that will offer this plus a review from their team of technical experts – those people who just can’t get enough. These are the best people to test the market for you.
